Queensland SunSmart Day is an annual statewide event hosted by Cancer Council Queensland to encourage all Queenslanders to get involved in raising funds and awareness for our fight against skin cancer.
In 2011, Queensland SunSmart Day will be held on Friday, November 18, ahead of National Skin Cancer Action Week on November 20-26. Last year, Queensland SunSmart Day raised more than $30,000 for Cancer Council Queensland's work in skin cancer research, prevention and early detection programs and patient support services.
We would like to extend our thanks to our 2009 and 2010 major event sponsor, ENERGEX.
ENERGEX is committed to supporting SunSmart Day so that all Queenslanders are safe in the sun during summer and all year round.
All Queensland schools, day care centres and local businesses are encouraged to get their students, employees and customers and register to host a SunSmart initiative to help raise awareness of skin cancer prevention and early detection and raise funds in the fight against skin cancer.
