Host your own fundraiser
Every day of the week volunteers are fundraising on behalf of Cancer Council Queensland in their local community. Fundraising covers a wide scope of activities that are developed with the purpose of raising funds for the benefit of Cancer Council Queensland.
They can include a special one off event or initiative, an annual event, or an ongoing initiative that is run for a specified period of time. Activities may be entirely new in nature or could involve an established activity/campaign to which you decide to add a fundraising component onto it
If you have a great fundraising idea and would like to raise funds for Cancer Council Queensland then we would love to hear it!
What do I need to do now?
- Step 1
Decide what type of fundraising event or activity you’d like to organise.
- Step 2
Read through the Community Champions Guide to Fundraising to make sure you understand your responsibilities of a fundraiser for Cancer Council Queensland and also the ways Cancer Council Queensland can support you in your efforts.
- Step 3
Complete the Community Champions Proposal Form and return back to Cancer Council Queensland for approval. (Please note all fundraising activities/events must have prior approval from Cancer Council Queensland before you commence organising your event or activity). If you would like to discuss your fundraising idea further before completing the proposal form then please call 1300 65 65 85 to talk to one of our Regional Fundraising Co-ordinators.
- Step 4
We will contact you to let you know if your fundraising activity has been approved. Once it has been approved we will register your activity and send out your fundraising kit.
- Step 5
Start organising and planning your event! You can also build your own online fundraising page and have your friends, family and colleagues sponsor you.
- Step 6
Once you have held your fundraising activity, send any funds raised and receipt books etc back to Cancer Council Queensland.
