Tis the season to sip for charity... Australia's Biggest Morning Tea
Tea lovers are being called on to register to host a morning tea for Cancer Council Queensland’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea this tea-sipping season.
Thursday, May 27 is the official date when tea and scones will be enjoyed across the state, and hosts are needed now!
Senior National Events Co-ordinator at Cancer Council Queensland, Katie Field, said every cup helps to tip the balance in the fight against cancer.
“Now is the perfect time for morning tea hosts to register their morning tea and start planning their events, as May is only around the corner,” she said.
“Hosting a morning tea this May is easy, simply get friends, family or work colleagues together to take a break and enjoy some time out, while raising funds for a great cause.
“I encourage all Queenslanders to put the kettle on in May and support the one in two Queenslanders diagnosed with cancer.”
Last year over 5300 morning teas were held by enthusiastic hosts throughout Queensland, raising an incredible almost $1.9 million for Cancer Council Queensland’s cancer research, patient support services and education programs.
Getting involved is as easy as brewing your favourite cuppa. All you need to do is:
1. Register as a host at www.biggestmorningtea.com.au
2. Invite your friends, family, colleagues, community groups etc to your event
3. Return funds raised to Cancer Council Queensland
