Biggest Morning Tea

With just seven days to go, Cancer Council Queensland is calling on 1000 more Queenslanders to register to make their cuppas count in the fight against cancer by hosting a Biggest Morning Tea on May 26.

This year, Cancer Council Queensland hopes to register more than 5900 hosts and raise more than $2.15 million across the state as part of the nation-wide tea party.

Funds raised from Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea events across the State contribute to Cancer Council Queensland’s vital cancer research, education programs and patient support services, such as accommodation during treatment.

All you need to do is register to host an event on May 26 or anytime during May or June, tea-up your friends, family and workmates and get your kettle boiling!

To register, visit www.biggestmorningtea.com.au or call 1300 65 65 85.

This year some of Australia’s favourite foodies have come on board to share their healthy recipes with our hosts, including celebrity nutritionist Janella Purcell and 2010 Masterchef runner-up Callum Hann. To view these scrumptious recipes, visit www.biggestmorningtea.com.au.

There are many way to make your morning tea count, including hosting a simple morning tea with workmates, a sophisticated high tea with friends or by hosting a cake stall at your local school or community markets.

So go on, put the kettle on and take some time out with friends to help the one in two Queenslanders who will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85.

In 2011, Cancer Council Queensland celebrates its 50th Anniversary of supporting Queenslanders affected by cancer.

Cancer Council Queensland is an independent, community-based charity. The achievements of Cancer Council Queensland are made possible by the generosity of Queenslanders.
