ESA Wig and Turban Service

Hair loss can be one of the most distressing side-effects an individual can face whilst undergoing cancer treatment. Dealing with hair loss is a very individual experience; some people like to wear a wig while others find hats, scarves and turbans to be more comfortable and attractive. Deciding what is right for you is the most important thing.

Cancer Council Queensland's ESA Wig and Turban Service aims to assist individuals with the side-effects of hair loss as a result of their cancer treatment, through the provision of wig loans and turbans, free of charge.

Each of Cancer Council Queensland's offices and accommodation lodges across the state are equipped with a Wig Loan Library comprising of a selection of wigs and turbans. The Wig Loan Libraries are staffed by fully trained volunteers and hours and days of operation are specific to each location.

To book an appointment with a fully trained volunteer, or for more information regarding the ESA Wig and Turban Service, contact the Cancer Council Helpline on 13 11 20.
