Cancer Council Queensland is a community-based organisation dedicated to serving the community in cancer control. We are committed to reducing the burden of cancer on individuals and the community by providing Queenslanders with emotional and practical support during their cancer treatment through the Cancer Council Queensland Practical Support Program.
Practical Support Program - Cancer Council Assist Service
The program aims to assist individuals diagnosed with cancer by reducing the financial burden of accessing treatment. The program provides a range of support services across Queensland including:
- Assisting with accommodation and transport costs whilst undertaking cancer treatment;
- Facilitating referrals to organisations that provide financial counselling such as UnitingCare and Salvation Army.
