Our Cancer Council Helpline is a free service for all Queenslanders. The Helpline is staffed by trained professionals who have knowledge about cancer and cancer care. If you have questions about cancer, our Helpline team can help. They provide information, support about cancer, and referrals to services throughout the state.The Helpline operates from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday. Our Helpline staff can assist with:
- Information about cancer and cancer treatments.
- Support in coping with cancer.
- Referrals to cancer care and support services within Cancer Council Queensland.
- Links to other sources of cancer information.
Services
We provide a Wig and Turban Service for people who have lost their hair as a result of cancer treatment.
We also offer a limited range of home medical aid equipment for people with a cancer, to assist with their care at home. Equipment available through the service includes wheelchairs, beds, and shower stools (please note that the availability of equipment varies).
Our Helpline offers a range of resource booklets with information on all aspects of cancer. Resources can be sent to patients, families, health professionals, schools and interstate on request.
