Health Professional Groups

The Oncology Nurses Group (ONG) is a group for all nurses who care for people with cancer or who are involved in public health cancer control. Oncology Nurses Group (ONG). More information is available about the 35th Annual Oncology Nurses Group Conference.

The Allied Health Professionals Oncology Group (AHPOG) is a group for all Allied Health Professionals working in cancer care and public health.

Education Programs

Cancer Education Programs

Indigenous Health Workers Cancer Courses are offered each year to provide information for indigenous health workers about cancer, cancer prevention and early detection and palliative care.

The Alf Kretschmar Award aims to involve enrolled nurses, undergraduates in nursing and assistants-in-nursing in Queensland in our promotion of community attitudes about, and opinions toward cancer. Entrants submit a written contribution on the topic "Caring for the Person with Cancer – A Positive Nursing Experience".

Health Professional Education Forums provide a range of cancer related lectures and workshops. Recent forum topics have included, "Supporting Patients through Smoking Cessation" "Promoting Wellness for People with Cancer" "Cancer Care for the Elderly" and "Managing Oncological Emergencies".

The Teachers Seminar is an annual event which provides information for teachers about children and adolescents whose lives have been affected by cancer.
