
The Oncology Nurses Group is a state wide body that operates under the auspices and sponsorship of Cancer Council Queensland.
As a state-wide body, the group is composed of Oncology Nurses Groups located in urban and rural centres throughout Queensland.Objectives of the Oncology Nurses Group
- To promote excellence in the specialty of cancer nursing.
- To provide opportunities for the exchange of information between nurses caring for people with cancer.
- To establish standards and guidelines related to cancer nursing practice.
- To develop and disseminate knowledge for the improvement of persons at risk of or actually diagnosed with cancer, and their families.
- To identify the need for and encourage nursing research to improve the quality of care for people with cancer and those involved with their care.
- To promote the further development of the Oncology Nurses Group throughout Queensland.
Membership
Membership is open to any nurse who has an interest in cancer care. Registered, enrolled, student, pupil and assistant nurses are eligible to join the Oncology Nurses Group.
