Human Papilloma Virus

The Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is commonly referred to as the wart virus.

  • It is responsible for the development of 99.8 per cent of cervical cancer cases.
  • It is a common viral infection.
  • 95 per cent of sexually active people are infected with HPV at some stage during their lifetime.
  • It is a potentially serious health concern for all women.
  • If left untreated, may develop into invasive cervical cancer.
