Research Support Officer, Breast Cancer Outcomes Study - Position Description

Research Support Officer

DEPARTMENT

Viertel Centre for Research in Cancer Control (VCRCC)              

STATUS

Contract, full-time/part-time

LOCATION

Brisbane

REPORTS TO

Research Officer, Breast Cancer Outcomes Project

Responsible for

  • Assisting with the delivery of research projects in the VCRCC.

Main activities

  • Conduct interviews with research participants, adhering to study protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with administration for research projects, including data entry as required.
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the VCRCC to ensure research is conducted to the highest standard of quality.
  • Conduct activities in accordance with Cancer Council Queensland policies, procedures and management instruction as and when required.
  • Work collaboratively with all staff and volunteers of Cancer Council Queensland to ensure support of and excellence in delivery of all Cancer Council Queensland activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the VCRCC team in pursuit of the overall organisational mission. 
  • Other duties as defined by the Research Officer, Breast Cancer Outcomes Project.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in a similar role.
  • Qualifications in a health-related field or equivalent experience are desirable.

Key Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in conducting research interviews in a health-related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out specified research tasks accurately and with strong attention to detail. 
  • Demonstrated computer skills.
  • High-level organisational skills.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills.

Hours of work

Required to work five days a week to cover business requirements of a 7.5 hour day and 37.5 hour week but may be required to work outside these hours depending on business requirements.
