The Cancer Council Queensland provides support to families where a child or young person has been diagnosed with cancer or affected by a diagnosis of cancer in the family.
Avenues of support include support for parents through the Cancer Connect program where a parent can talk with another parent who has been through a similar experience. The Cancer Council Queensland has a Children’s library which offers a range of books for children to help them understand what is happening to their parent or sibling. The Seize the Day Study Awards assists teenagers who have been affected by cancer through the allocation of financial awards to assist with tertiary studies.
Contact The Cancer Council Helpine for more information on 13 11 20, 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday.
