At The Cancer Council Queensland we recognise the importance of keeping your personal details confidential. We are committed to providing you with the peace of mind of knowing your application will be treated confidentially.
In our Privacy Policy we have outlined our manner of dealing with all your personal and confidential information. |
| Type of information we may collect |
The type of personal information we collect is in the form of resumes or other information provided by the applicant in order to assess the suitability of the applicant for the potential position.
This may include:
- Resumes, including the applicant’s name and address, contact details such as phone numbers and email addresses, skills and employment history details.
- Academic transcripts and other transcripts relating to various accreditations.
- A minimum of two reference checks from previous employers. The applicant nominates these referees.
- Other miscellaneous information disclosed by the applicant and included as part of the resume.
- Information collected during the course of the interviewing process such as interview notes and assessment results.
- Use and disclosure of your personal information.
During the course of the recruitment and selection process the Human Resources team will use personal information provided in applications. The information will often be distributed internally to the relevant hiring managers involved in the recruitment. The information will be treated in the strictest confidence and will not be distributed outside the organisation.
Once we have completed the selection process, any information collected for this process is held and stored in a secure location. Resumes and related information are kept for six months. After this time it is shredded or disposed of in an otherwise unidentifiable way. The Cancer Council Queensland does not sell any personal information.

The Cancer Council Queensland is committed to keeping your personal information secure. The Human Resources team keeps a hard copy of all resumes and all related information for unsuccessful applicants in a secure location. Only the Human Resources team has access to this information.

If you contact the Human Resources team within six months of your application, in most cases you will be able to gain access to your personal information.
If the applicant wishes to apply for another position at The Cancer Council Queensland, it is the applicant's responsibility to send another copy of their details to The Cancer Council.
