Because so much of our work is long term, the launch of our new “Breakthrough” program will allow Cancer Council Queensland to plan for the future.

Your regular monthly donation allows us to increase awareness about cancer, support cancer patients and their families  and fund vital cancer research.

By being part of our “Breakthrough” program you can make a regular monthly donation to Cancer Council Queensland from your credit card or by direct debit from your nominated bank account.

Your donation is processed automatically each month, which makes it easy for you to keep track of. You will be issued with an annual receipt at the end of the financial year.

By becoming a member of our “Breakthrough” program you will receive regular updates about:

• Research, prevention and treatment
• The latest tips for keeping you and your family healthy
• Events and new developments

Make your donation in honour of a friend or family member

As a member of “Breakthrough” you can make your donation in memory of a loved one. Simply write your friend’s or family member’s name in the space provided on the form.

Direct your gift towards breakthroughs in preventing and treating cancer

Another advantage of becoming a “Breakthrough” member is the ability to direct your gift to treat a number of specific cancers, whether it be prostate or testicular cancer, breast cancer or wherever we see the need being the greatest.

Your support as a regular “Breakthrough” giver can go towards ground breaking research like that of Professor Ian Frazer’s cervical cancer vaccine, and the 45 or so other major research projects funded by Cancer Council Queensland each year.

Breakthroughs like Professor Frazer’s can lead to us understanding more about how cancer is caused, how it can be prevented and how to treat it more effectively, which will ultimately mean more people can survive cancer.
